If you are interested in the current operations of a central bank, the history of money or banknote art, it is worth paying a visit to the Bank of Finland Museum. Admission is free, and you can tour the museum on your own or as part of a group. It is advisable to book guided tours in advance. The Museum also arranges lectures and presentations for groups, particularly of students. The Museum is located at Snellmaninkatu 2 in Helsinki. It is open on Tuesdays–Fridays from 11.00 am to 5.00 pm and on Saturdays–Sundays from 11.00 am to 4.00 pm. The Bank of Finland arranges educational lectures and presentations to student groups, prefereably to secondary school pupils and older students. Experts from the Bank present some of the tasks of the Bank of Finland and of the European Central Bank and tell about monetary policy, global economy and the Bank as an employer.
