Future of the financial services sector

One of the Bank of Finland's key functions is to promote the reliability, efficiency and stability of financial and payment systems. The research programme on the future of the financial services sector addresses these issues.

Areas of interest include themes that examine the stability of the banking system relative to macroeconomic trends. Also studied is the impact technological development and innovations have on the functioning of the financial markets and payment systems.

Research in this programme is supervised by Esa Jokivuolle and Tuomas Takalo.
