Aaron Mehrotra obtained his doctorate at the European University Institute in Florence, Italy, in 2006. His advisors were Professors Michael Artis and Helmut Lütkepohl. He also holds an MSc in Economics from the Helsinki School of Economics, Finland, and an MA in International Business from the Rennes International School of Business, France.
Mr. Mehrotra joined the Bank of Finland Institute for Economies in Transition in summer 2005. At BOFIT, he has held the positions of senior economist and economist.
Mr. Mehrotra is docent (adjunct professor) at the Aalto University School of Economics. He has worked as visiting economist at the Austrian National Bank during January-February 2009, and is a visiting professor at the Kyiv School of Economics, Ukraine, during the term 2009-2010. During his postgraduate studies, Aaron Mehrotra pursued research internships at the European Central Bank in Frankfurt and at the European Investment Bank in Luxembourg.
