BOFIT's aim is to conduct policy-oriented, applied, research that is methodologically sound and well-grounded in current economic theory. An important part of our work is to get connected to transition research carried out by our colleagues in the domestic and foreign academia. For this purpose, we run a regular seminar series at BOFIT, designed to stimulate discussion and support work-in-progress. Each year, we also organise a BOFIT Workshop on Transition Economics where we invite prominent international scholars. The institute has also close links with e.g. the IMF, the World Bank, the EBRD and WIDER.
